On December 9th 2016, the Ambassador of the U.S Embassy in Tirana, Mr. Donald Lu took part in the opening event in the frame of the program “The watchdog and advocate role in the civic society”
The Message Communicated by People in Focus in this event:
“We are the People, the Citizens. In these 25 years of pluralism, we all have heard of the strangest corruptive experiences that we face in the public institutions.
‘Citizens in Focus’, ‘Transparency’, ‘Good Governance’, ‘Fight against Corruption’, ‘The public administration in the service of the citizens’; etc., these are words that we hear often but it seems to be in vain.
We put “People in Focus”, trying to give those words value by encouraging civic participation in improving the public service delivery as one of the best ways to reduce corruption, increase accountability and good governance”
